I grabbed a couple of beers with Abby’s parents, Bill & Debbie, down at the Caribou Tavern (you will see a few ‘Bou pic down in the post) a couple weeks back playing catch up on what was new with “The Kids”, all the good times and adventures Bill & Debbie are having now that they are done paying for a wedding, and what is new with me. They were curious how the 2014 wedding season treated me, what were some my favorite memories…
When I think back on each of my couples weddings there is always a stand out memory or feeling that stays with me long after the wedding is done. Sometimes it is the spectacular food, sometimes it is the most thoughtful or fun toasts, sometimes it is a bride so gorgeous she takes everyone’s breath away…and sometimes it is sheer joy and laughter that fills each moment of the day and it just keeps coming and coming like waves lapping against the shore and you hope it never quits. That was Abby & Cory’s wedding day. It was a beautiful wedding; she sparkled all day from her dress to her smile, he was one of the sweetest and genuinely emotional (read that as tears of joy) grooms I have ever had. The day was playful, the parents were easy, and the toasts were amazing (yup the groom and his brother are like the Bacon Brothers, but they are the Bosben Brothers and the toast included a song.) The setting was gorgeous, classic white on white at the Memorial Union, they danced all night, and even Bucky & Band showed up.
