With the holidays coming into full swing and a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner last night with family, I was reflecting upon what I have been thankful this year. Looking across the dinner table during the couple of thanksgiving dinners I have eaten this weekend, I know how thankful I am for my happy and healthy family, the people I love, a great and kind man in my life, parents with great stories that make you laugh until your side hurts, and a really great kid (I will get to that a little later in my post). I am also thankful for the wonderful opportunities being a wedding planner provides me. I get to be a part of one of the most significant days in a person’s life… not just as a guest, but as an instrumental part of the joy, the creation, the private and unseen moments that make up a wedding day. Over brunch this past weekend I was chatting with another wonderful Madison wedding planner about how fantastic that last moment before she walks down the aisle is, how special and how quick it goes by, and how for me that moment is suspended in time. So thank you to all my sweet couples. I am so grateful to be a part of your day, a moment in your life that is the start to so many other great moments…
So as I reflect and think back, I thought it would be fun to share special moments that I have had at your weddings this year… enjoy!
sometimes you get the best hugs
it’s that last chuckle before he walks down the aisle
straightening her veil
and once, I even got to marry them
cake smash clean up
and the fist bump
and then there is Thad… my great kid! Every moment of every day thankful for him. He helps at every wedding. Hauling things, lifting things, helping the bartenders carry heavy things… and sometimes he steps in when the bride’s brother can’t make it, he makes sure she has some brotherly love.
