As I sit here on this snowy Tuesday morning getting ready to write my post about Lindsay and Corey’s wedding day, I can’t help but remember how much I had hoped for a little snow right before their wedding day to set a beautiful stage outdoors for their Wisconsin Winter Wedding. While the snow didn’t happen, the day certainly was beautiful; full of joy, laughter and love, touched deeply by their Faith and commitment to each other, plus a few wedding planner tricks to make snowflakes happen, crystal snowflakes twinkle, and a navy and silver winter wedding reception all come together beautifully!
Meet Lindsay, my beautiful and playful bride… a modern day Grace Kelly in this picture
meet Corey, her handsome and thoughtful groom
meet Lindsay’s girls. What a dynamic group of women! Their faith binds them, their laughter brings spirited energy wherever they go… and it’s obvious they are gorgeous!
meet Corey’s handsome groomsmen. A group of brothers in life and brothers we choose, this was a really fun and thoughtful group of guys.
No doubt you can tell this bunch of fellows are fun!
meet Cindy… Lindsay’s Mom. I always work closely with the Mother of the Bride, but I worked particularly close with Cindy as Lindsay and Corey live in the Twin Cities. I so thankful and appreciative for how much trust Cindy has for me… you can also see where Lindsay gets her beauty. Cindy, always with a great sense of style, modernized and brought a tremendous amount of chicness to the Mother of the Bride dress. Cindy, I am so happy to have worked with you, that you laughed and danced all through your daughter’s wedding day. Thank you!
The photo above was the moment Cindy saw Lindsay in her wedding gown for the first time… first moments on wedding days are always so wonderful
Lindsay sees her mom for the first time!
I love this photo so much! Such the beautiful girl… I must admit I love calling her my pouty princess in this picture. Funny too, as she is not a pouty princess at all.
As I said before, Lindsay and her bridesmaids are bound in their faith. Right before the start of the wedding the girls took a private moment to bless their beloved friend as she embarked upon her next life journey.
Lindsay and her dad, Rick, as he walks her down the aisle. Wedding day moments between a father and his daughter are always so special. Daddy’s love their girls, watch over their girls, strive to teach them to be remarkable women… and in the evolution from little girl to woman there is that bittersweet and special moment where you get to see your sweet girl go on in life as a woman knowing you were part who that amazing woman is.

There was so much love throughout the day, and the wedding ceremony was an amazing tapestry of their hard work, their love, their future all woven together and strengthened by their shared Faith. In a wedding ceremony there is often a time of meditation and thoughtfulness from the person they have chosen to officiate their marriage. I am not a religious person, and while I expected to enjoy the ceremony, I was not sure how connected I would feel. The meditation, the energy that reverberated from their faith, and the thoughtful words that are found in prayer, left me (and everyone else) tremendously moved and grateful of the handkerchiefs I had passed out right before the ceremony.
and now… time for wedding details and more brilliant wedding day moments! It was a stunning wedding! I was so blessed to have clients who trusted my vision as their distance from Madison hindered their ability to have their hands in the details with me. Lindsay and Corey’s wedding was my first Kate Package, full wedding planning…enjoy!
her beautiful dress…
Lindsay’s gorgeous bridal bouquet. Filled with hydrangea’s, ranunculus, tulips, cedar, a gardenia for her grandpa, and these little tiny flowers that smelled like grape. I have yet to ever smell a bouquet of flowers that smelled SO good. It was a magical smell on a January Day.
Lindsay has always been particularly close with her grandparents. Unfortunately, her grandfather passed before she was married. Many sweet gestures were done to hold her grandfather’s spirit near on her wedding day, but nothing was so special as the gardenia. Gardenia’s were her grandmother and grandfather’s wedding flower. It was Lindsay’s special request that she carried a gardenia in her bouquet and her grandmother wore a gardenia in her corsage. I felt so honored to put her grandmother’s corsage on her wrist.
JD… Lindsay’s awesome Uncle. What a fantastic guy! Probably my favorite wedding guest ever!
Such a stunning wedding party!
Lindsay and Corey’s toasts were so fun too! Corey’s brothers shared very important advice on marriage (Lindsay is always right) , Lindsay’s dad shared the funniest toast that included a pitcher of water and a bucket (yep…that scared me at first) but it was wonderful insight into how much he trusted and loved his new son-in-law. Cindy spoke of her joys of motherhood and the pride she has as she looks upon her daughters and the knowledge she has in the successes that Lindsay and Corey find together in love and life, and Perrin, Lindsay’s sweet sweet Maid of Honor who’s toast was darling, tearful, funny, and spoke to true to the depths of friendship and love that is so special between best friends.
Corey, always the romantic, even had a surprise video for his beautiful bride.
a timeless moment, frozen in time, a winter day, love, beauty and tremendous style
crystals, winter wonderfulness, who would have known the groom loved snowflakes… so we put some in his boutonniere
With Lindsay and Corey living in the Twin Cities, we did a lot of our communications via email, phone and Pinterest. So while they trusted that the day would be beautiful they never had a chance to see all the details come together until their wedding day. It was so fun to take them into their reception space privately before dinner began.
The Overture Center for the Arts is always a lovely backdrop for a wedding day, and this day was no exception. Custom lights tinted the lanterns, the tablescapes were wintry with silver curly willow, delicate details of lace, a crystal snowflake like table runner, sparkling mirrors and chrome, plus tons of candle light.
So to Corey and Lindsay… may you walk down the road of life and marriage always hand in hand, smiling and in love. May your travels and adventures be strengthened by the knowledge that you chose the person who knows you the best, who shares your passion for life, and that perfect-for-you someone who will always continue to surprise you, support you and compliment the best parts of who you are together and as individuals.
Colossians 3:12-17 Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
Thank you for having me be a part of your wedding day.
Blessings ~ Jenny
