As a wedding planner I have learned that every wedding is truly a special and momentous day… and I can see with my own eyes that every Bride is beautiful, but sometimes a couple and a wedding day comes along and it feels like you have hit the wedding planner lottery!
On August 18, 2012 I was incredibly lucky to share in the wedding day of Erin & Adam…Erin my gorgeous bride, Adam my sweet and tender groom…from an adorable MOB to some of the most fantastic toasts…to great wedding details and a wedding reception with a Rockin’ Band that never once had an empty dance floor. Oh yeah, this wedding was the bee’s knees!
meet Erin…my lovely, kind, and joyful bride
meet Adam…her adorable, fun and tenderhearted groom
meet Adam’s guys…the dashing groomsmen. What a great group of fellas! They danced, they laughed, they partied.. and they carried stuff for me! Sure, the Best Man lost his cuff links the morning of the wedding and a groomsmen forgot to pack a belt (which was dealt with in an early morning text message to me and a belt stolen from my guy’s closet… I do say in all my pre-wedding emails, reach out to me for anything) But it those kind of adventures that make wedding day stories so good.
meet Erin’s bridesmaids…her giggling, gorgeous group of gals. They are a phenomenal collection of women, any bride would be lucky to have best friends like these on her wedding day.
the ‘rents. Awesome!
Erin was a beautiful bride. Her dress was a simple fit and flare dress with a sweetheart neckline. She chose to wear her mother’s veil, a stunning cathedral length veil made of embroidered Belgian lace. There is such a sweetness in watching a mother dress her daughter on her wedding day.
Erin and her dad as he walks her down the aisle…a few quiet moments left with her as his princess.
It was a stunning day for a wedding in the rooftop sculpture garden of MMoCA.
The wedding was simple and heartfelt. Erin’s aunt Marcy officiated their wedding with a thoughtful touch of Quaker tradition. The vows were so very sweet and spoke to how much they love each other, how they make each other a better person, the adventures they have together, and to tremendous amount of love and hope they have as they go through the rest of their lives together.
Seriously cute wedding wonderfulness!
even without heads they are adorable!
it ain’t a Downtown Madison Wedding without a stop for beer at The Old Fashioned!
Wedding toasts are often one of my wedding day highlights, I love them… and the toasts to Erin & Adam were no exception. Erin’s dad was such a proud father as he spoke about woman his sweet little “princess” had grown into… Erin’s brother told all of us about first time he met Adam and how from that night on he has known his sister will always be loved and how he has gained a brother. The toasts were heartfelt, and some even had rhymes…
The details were fantastic and Erin did an amazing job… she made all of those corn husk centerpieces herself!
A summertime take on the Moscow Mule made for a refreshing drink with organic Michigan Blueberries.
Erin and Adam said they wanted a modern summertime garden party feel for their wedding day, and I think we achieved that!
So Here’s To You Erin and Adam… Thank you for choosing me to be a part of your wedding day. Thank you for being so fun. Thank you for opening your life to me and for becoming friends. Thank you for the blueberries (I ate almost all of them in one sitting) …
I wish you love, joy, adventures, and success in all that you do. Happy Wedding Day…Happy Life.
Cheers ~ Jenny
