Destination weddings are a great way to get away with close family and friends to celebrate your nuptials. Often we think of some place warm, some place exotic, some place up on a mountain. Sometimes we decide to plan a destination wedding in our own state. in the beautiful state of Wisconsin, often our dreams drift towards Door County. If you don’t know Door County, its north of Green Bay on a sweet peninsula extending out into Lake Michigan. It has darling artist communities, beautiful beaches and more B&B’s than you can image…but that is all for a later post.
How about Destination…Spring Green! Located less than 40 miles from Madison, Spring Green is a darling community with so much going on! It is a wonderfully hip and artsy, yet slightly sleepy village located in the Wisconsin River Valley. You can check out their local chamber website for more info. Even their village motto is “Spring Green, Creativity Shining Through”
Spring Green thrives on being a weekend get away with great things like golf at the House on the Rock Resort, American Players Theater, touring the House on the Rock, Gallery Walks and more! Group events can be planned for guests, or just give them the tools to seek out their interests since there is so much to do!

An all in one Wedding venue! At the Hilltop in Spring Green you can have your ceremony and your reception in one of 4 locations. After speaking with the owner, I really understand that their idea & goal is to be just what the bride and groom needs! The have an outdoor location on a grassy hillside (Hilltop in fact), they have a beautiful barn, a pavilion (which i am quite partial to), courtyards and the Pine House for lodging for getting ready. It can be an outdoor garden party, a rustic wedding, or incredibly chic and architectural…its all how you design it!
And here are some great blog posts by Wisconsin Photographers who shot weddings at The Hilltop…what a stunning location!
